The Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers (AILDM) will shortly be holding a new seminar, From Design to Construction. This informative seminar is specifically aimed at discussing the processes of landscape design all the way through to the point of construction. The focus will be on identifying which external contactors might be required for the work and when those contractors will be needed. This information will help you to successfully sequence the collation of documentation and paperwork required for Development Applications.
LNA Board Member Matthew Beckett, Director of Reflective Gardens, has been invited to speak at the seminar and will be addressing the group on the construction of landscape designs. He will be highlighting what designers should look for in a construction contractor and what information contractors need to see in landscape plans.
The program also includes sessions on design, discussing issues such as what to look out for before starting your design, as well as the types of information where you may need to gain additional information from external consultants. There will also be discussion about insurance needs, as well as a range of specialist consultants including a surveyor, certifier, engineer, geo-technician and town planner.
The seminar promises to be invaluable to those embarking on landscape design for the first time, or those of you who are taking on larger scale projects than you have previously handled. There is also the added benefit that those of you who attend will receive two continuing professional development points!
