Alpine Nurseries Celebrates the Landscape Industry

Posted by Alpine Nurseries on 14 November 2018

Alpine Nurseries has been a Gold Corporate Partner of the LNA for many years. Alpine Nurseries plants and trees featured yet again across and within nearly every category of the LNA's 38th Annual Landscape Excellence Awards.

Alpine Nurseries is proud of the strong relationships we uphold with all our partners and landscape professionals. We are pleased to share some aspects of the award winning projects and our partnerships with you here.

Charlie Albone and the Inspired Exteriors team received five awards on the night for four outstanding landscape projects, all featuring Alpine Nurseries plants and trees. In relation to the Husqvarna Residential Design & Construction of the Year award for their Wahroonga project, Charlie said "when providing plants for such large projects ( The Wahroonga residence, Terrigal Fire Pit, The Piazza in Vaucluse and Ravenswood School for Girls) you often need multiple deliveries with consistent quality. We require honesty as to what is looking and performing well. Alpine always delivers on all points making the process of building a garden that much easier and I've been using Alpine for over a decade now." He explains that the Wharoonga project started off small then quickly escalated into a project that lasted two and a half years. "It included an old monorail carriage that had a custom interior, turning it into a bar set in a formal European style garden room."

Green Options received three awards on the night for two superb projects, including the Husqvarna Commercial Maintenance of the Year award for the King's School. Contract Manager, Aaron Spedding explains that for the King's School, "The Landscape Architects requested uncommon plants that many of us have never worked with and Alpine Nurseries were able to source many of the plants or substitute with a variety more suited to the climate of Inner Western Sydney. I believe the quality and standards of plants supplied to us by Alpine Nurseries to be extremely high and the range is vast. Any issues are quickly resolved and their recommendations have helped in ensuring the best outcomes."

The Husqvarna Residential Maintenance of the Year Award was received by Green Revolutions for Sally's Garden. Jocasta Milligan explains, "we have been working with Sally for around four years now and chose Alpine because we have a long term relationship with them." Jocasta explains the projects, "The footbridge joining the two properties over the storm water culvert was originally unsightly but has been incorporated as a feature of the garden. The cloud pruning of the self sown Arbutus undo ( Irish Strawberry Tree) was originally marked for removal but retained and made a feature through the remedial pruning and shaping. Alpine Nurseries has helped us by sourcing and supplying good quality plants that we require."

Goodmanors Pool + Gardens received a Highly Commended award in the Residential Construction $35,000 to $75,000 for the Hunters Hill project and says "We were looking for some mature elements for this garden so that the client didn't have to wait long to enjoy the full splendour of their new space. Alpine can always provide what we need so our designers are free to create the perfect landscape for our clients without compromise. Alpine was able to supply some beautiful, mature plantings that provided dramatic effect from those very first months. We really wanted to complement the history of the home and the suburb with a garden that was lush and wild, and had 'lived in' elements, and looking as if it had always been there."

Joanne Green Landscape & Interior received one Gold and two Silver Awards at the LNA night of nights and says that the client of Duffy's Forest project wanted a subtropical feel. "Originally it was a citrus orchard, so the soil was very poor. We transformed it by working on the soil and selecting appropriate plants. Alpine's quality control is great and they are able to source unusual plants for us."

"In the Manly residence we completely carved the landscape into the site with a lot of retaining, drainage and soil works. We have a great relationship with Alpine Nurseries over many years."

Glascott Landscape & Civil received one Gold and two Silver Awards for three outstanding projects in the Commercial categories on the night. Matt Tancred, National Client Manager at Glascott's said, "Alpine Nurseries were engaged to help deliver the green walls on the Coal Loader Platform - a high profiled part of the site. We are very pleased with the result, as is our client, North Sydney Council. On our Elouera Reserve project, Alpine provided plant stock for the entire project."

He continues, "Alpine Nurseries understand what is important to our clients and the landscape architects, and this kind of collaboration enables us to deliver large and complex projects on time and to budget. We are grateful to have a trusted delivery partner in Alpine Nurseries. They are a reliable partner, deliver on their promise of quality, and work with our teams towards the best outcome for our clients."
