The Building Professionals Board (BPB) have developed a continuing professional development program (CPD) for swimming pool certifiers and are seeking independent experts to review the proposed CPD activities to advise them on whether they are suitable.
The program has been developed for delivery to E1 certifiers and reviewers will have an important role in supporting the Board's decisions on whether a CPD activity will help to improve and maintain certifiers' knowledge, skills and professionalism.
Successful applicants will:
Be qualified and experienced in one or more subjects related to swimming pool regulation, certification and/or education
Review the accuracy of the content of the proposed CPD activities against all applicable legislation, Standards and codes
Determine whether the materials and delivery method of a proposed activity is likely to be effective in improving certifier knowledge
Provide comprehensive and practical feedback to CPD providers within agreed timeframes.
Before embarking on reviewing, successful applicants will be required to attend a short induction session at the Board's office to help them become familiar with their responsibilities, the review process and criteria.
As an independent reviewer, you will be expected to review the CPD activities against criteria which will be provided to you. You will then recommend to the CPD provider which aspects of the activity need to be changed to ensure it is accurate, current, relevant, and will be effective. You will not design, prepare or rewrite the content or materials; that is the provider's role.
The time taken for a review will depend on how complex the CPD activity is and whether it has an assessment component.
Payment will be negotiated by reviewers directly with the CPD providers, who will also be responsible for paying the reviewers. The Board has no involvement with the setting or paying of fees.
Applications for the reviewer positions close on the 25th of September 2016, so if you are interested in submitting an application you should do so before this time. Your application must include:
A completed application form outlining your area/s of expertise and who can verify it
A current curriculum vitae (CV)
