Fair Work Amendment Bill 2014

The Fair Work Amendment Bill 2014 (the Bill), which was introduced into the Parliament in March 2014, was recently approved by the Senate. The approved Bill, however, substantially amended and/or deleted many of the key features of the proposed amendments to the Fair Work Act (FWA) which had remained before the Parliament for over 18 months.

The Senate agreed only to allow the Bill's provisions relating to extended unpaid parental leave, greenfields agreements, protected action ballot orders and reclaiming unpaid monies with the Fair Work Commission (FWC).
