LNA August Workshop ~ Networking & Continuing Professional Development

Thank you to all the Members and Corporate Partners for attending the recent August Workshop. The workshop was attended by over 100 people. LNA president Matt Leacy opened the event with a welcome and introduction of new members Adore My Garden, Stone Will Landscaping, DIG Landscaping, Ramm Landscape, HSA Landscapes, Land Solutions Tasmania P/L, Kyora Landscapes and Enjoy Landscape.

A big thank you to our hosts Goodmanors and Andreasens Green along with event partner Balmain Brewing Company. Members were firstly treated to a presentation from Goodmanors Managing Director Matt Ashwin and Founders Ron Berkelmans and Raoul Van de Laak who spoke of their background and emphasised to our members the importance of having passion about landscaping.

Following this presentation members were treated to a selection of hot and cold food with drinks and wine as well as Balmain Brewing Company Beer.

The continual professional development for LNA members was prevalent in the presentations from industry professionals that included Simon Leake Director & Principal Soil Scientist from SESL Australia covering Soil Management with minimising waste disposal & soil recycling. Steve Falcioni the General Manager from Eco-Organic Gardens talking on Non-toxic pesticide & fungicide alternatives. Dick Clarke the Author of 'How to Re-think Building Materials' that showed members key strategies in Ecological & sustainable building materials. David Duncan the Senior Associate Landscape Architect at ASPECT Studios highlighting future trends and changes in plant usage in the context of landscape & garden architecture.

Following these insightful talks Darren Mason from Andreasens Green spoke about trends in plant usage and the role Andreasens Green plays in the Landscaping Industry, following Darren's presentation the LNA and Andreasens Green Pot of Gold was drawn.

The LNA would also like to congratulate Cole Brennan from Co-ordinated Landscapes who by attending the Workshop was able to enter an exclusive draw for attendees and won a trip to Port Douglas.

LNA CEO Joanne Aquilina stated "It is fantastic to see such a mix of longstanding and new members attending our Workshops. The LNA are proud to be providing a platform with a sense of comradery for our members to network, share valuable insights and continue the professional training and development."
