LNA February General Meeting

Posted by LNA Master Landscapers Association on 1 March 2017

The LNA Team and Board would like to thank all our corporate partners and members who attended the first General Meeting of the year on Monday 27 February at the Warringah Golf Club, hosted by Platinum Partner HardieDeck.

LNA Chairwoman Judy Bates opened the evening by welcoming corporate partners and members to the new year and informed them of the exciting projects the LNA is undertaking including the 2017 LNA Excellence Awards and the 16th Edition of the Schedule of Rates Guide.

Judy went on to then formally announce the resignation of Phillip Antcliff from the Board. Phillip has been a valued member of the board who had already contributed greatly to his portfolio of Events & Awards for 2017 before stepping down. Judy and the LNA wishes Phillip all the best for the future. Judy was able to then announce and welcome new Board Member Dan Cusack from Revive Landscapes. Dan, together with Board Member Martin Wolfe, will represent the ACT and other Regional districts on the board bringing much needed insight and attention to our regional members.

Judy then handed proceedings to LNA Events Coordinator, Daniel who launched the LNA Landscape Excellence Awards for 2017. This year the Awards ceremony will be held at the prestigious Westin Hotel, Martin Place Sydney on Friday 27 October.  After extensive feedback from the membership and award participants the categories have been revised to ensure there is a category relevant to every contractor member.

Allan Kerr from HardieDeck, introduced the members to a new breed of decking, HardieDeck. The new product is a compressed fibre cement decking solution that is water, fire and termite resistant. Allan and colleague Robert Scott went on to discuss further developments and case studies surrounding HardieDeck and the Landscape Construction Industry.

Allan then introduced Joel Basha from BTM Trades who has been installing the HardieDeck solution on various sites. Joel gave the members an insight on the product and how it works in both commercial and residential areas. He gave an extensive case study on the specifications of the product, the ease of instalment and factors to consider whilst cutting the framework.

The catering was generously provided by HardieDeck and the atmosphere of the evening was vibrant and well enjoyed by all who attended.
