Thank you to all the Members and Corporate Partners who attended the November Workshop. The final workshop for 2016 was hosted for the first time by Gold corporate partner, Gilbert & Roach Isuzu at their impressive Huntingwood dealership.
LNA Chairwoman, Judy Bates opened the event by welcoming members and advising them that the LNA had 10 new members. Rainbird Australia, Dubbo Landscaping, Luhrmann Environment Management, Q-One Property Services, Bundanoon Stone, Kanga Loaders, Finlease Australia, BWH Landscapes, Legends Landscaping and Australian Native Landscapes have all joined over the past months. A warm welcome went to Australian Native Landscapes who were able to attend the meeting on Monday evening.
Judy then went onto to inform the membership of the decision by ex-CEO Joanne Aquilina to resign from her recent appointment to the board. Jo has made the difficult decision to make a clean break from the LNA so she might be able to focus on her new endeavours. Joanne was, again, thanked for her years of service to the LNA and wished the best for the future.
Steven Brown, the LNA's Lawyer was invited onto the Board to advise the board and offer legal guidance and corporate governance oversight. Martin Rolfe from Foxy Landscapes in the ACT was also invited onto the board, Martin will represent the ACT and other regional members. Both Steven and Martin gladly accepted the invitations and were welcomed to the board.
Judy also officially reviewed the recent 2016 LNA Excellence Awards, she applauded Phil Antcliff, the board member responsible for the Awards and the LNA Team for such a fantastic evening. Judy encouraged the entire membership to consider which projects they could enter into next year's awards. Judy also encouraged members to take videos and photos of the projects over the summer.
It was also announced that the 2016 Annual Report would be made available some time in December/January through the website.
The membership were informed that membership renewals were being sent out this week and it would be appreciated if people could look out for them. It was also mentioned that if anyone was experiencing any difficulties could they please the LNA office know who could help set up an arrangement with them.
Anna Turner from Gold Partner LiberRATE was then invited to update the members on the development of the 16th Edition of the LNA Rates Book. Anna has been assisting the LNA Board in gathering the extensive amount of information needed to collate and write the new edition. The update led to some lively discussion about the Rates book, how it should be used and its purpose within the industry. This debate left Anna and the Board with some helpful insights and questions to address as they proceed with formulating and producing this helpful resource.
Isuzu Trucks and then Isuzu Utes both gave extensive and interesting presentations into the Isuzu fleet range. Market leaders in research and development, Isuzu has exceeded all known emissions standards, by producing smaller fuel efficient, yet more powerful engines. Isuzu has also developed software technology that will improve operators driving and truck and/or ute efficiencies. These developments have proved extremely beneficial and cost saving to any company with numerous truck or ute vehicles.
Extremely generous, the food and drinks provided by Gilbert & Roach were exceptional and was enjoyed by all. There was a massive display of trucks and utes in the yard that members could look at and admire, a big thanks to all the Gilbert & Roach sales staff who gladly answered any enquiries throughout the evening. If you have any enquires about an Isuzu Truck please call Matt Clinton on 0407 884 327 or 02 8825 1000 and if you have any enquires about an Isuzu Ute please call Chris Bloor on 0400 401 806 or 02 8825 1000.
At this point, Judy officially closed the meeting, to reconvene next February. She wished all members the best for the Christmas/Summer holidays and to have a happy and safe New Year.
