Further to our earlier blog announcing Landscaping New Zealand's 2016 Intelligro Conference to be held in Christchurch in August, we thought our members might like to know more about what this exciting conference has to offer.
The LNA is delighted to announce that our own CEO, Joanne Aquilina, has been invited to deliver an interactive presentation and forum to participants on the second day and is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to share information with our cousins across the ditch. Many of the landscaping issues faced in the New Zealand environment are similar to those experienced in the Australian context and this is a wonderful opportunity for us to connect and strengthen our ties with our New Zealand counterparts.
Some of the other highlights of the conference include:
A bus tour of the local gardens of significance, including a visit to the award-winning Christchurch Botanic Gardens to view the annual light show 'Botanic D'Lights'. The finalists in the Landscaping New Zealand City Parks Services Young Landscaper of the Year competition will also be completing the practical section of the competition at this time and spectators to this are more than welcome
A presentation by keynote speaker Sir Gil Simpson on IT, e-commerce and a holistic approach to landscape
An afternoon design exercise session that will leave its mark on Christchurch
Landscaping New Zealand City Parks and Services Young Landscaper of the Year dinner and winning entrant announcement
A presentation by keynote speaker Gilbert Enoka, expert on performance enhancement. Amongst other roles, Gilbert has worked with the All Blacks as Manager of Leadership and will discuss how individuals can learn to take ownership of their own direction and performance
Presentation from Houzz on advertising, promotion and social media and how to use these tools effectively for your business
A visit to the CBD red zone for a guided walk and meetings with prominent figures involved in rebuilding Christchurch following the earthquake in 2010
The Landscaping New Zealand Placemakers Riccarton Landscapes of Distinction awards dinner.
If you would like to attend this exciting and interesting conference, Landscaping New Zealand have offered LNA members the opportunity to purchase tickets for the same price as LNZ members. Rooms have also been reserved at Rydges at a special rate and are available to be booked by conference participants. So be quick to take up this great offer! If you have never had the chance to visit Christchurch, it is a beautiful city set on the Avon River and offers a wealth of gorgeous gardens.
