Proposed Changes to the Protection of the Environment Operations Regulation

The NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) has advised the LNA of proposed changes to the Protection of the Environment Operations Regulation and is welcoming feedback from all interested stakeholders in the landscaping and waste industries. An amendment to the Regulation has been drafted and can be accessed by clicking here.

The amendment proposes changes to the definitions of several Activities in Schedule 1 of the Regulation regarding: crushing, grinding or separating; extractive activities; dairy animal accommodation; railway systems activities; resource recovery; road construction; petroleum products and fuel production; waste processing and storage; and the definition of contaminated soil treatment.

We encourage all our members to carefully consider the proposed amendments and to submit any comments by either:
