The LNA Master Landscapers Association is pleased to announce the Board for the 2016/2017 period.
The 2016/2017 Board composition was determined at a meeting held on the 19th of September 2016 and there was no need for members to vote as the number of nominations received matched the number of positions available.
The new Board consists of a number of pre-existing Board Members, together with a few new inclusions, giving this year's Board a mixture of experience and fresh insights that should stand the organisation well over the coming year.
The 2016/2017 Board is as follows:
Jude Bates Chairperson; Portfolio: Training and Development
Jude Bates' whole working life has been in the horticulture industry in one form or another. While her industry background is amenity horticulture, she has embraced the landscape construction industry over the last few years and has been an active member of the LNA Board since 2009 in the Training and Development Portfolio.
Jude was originally recruited to the LNA Board because of her extensive knowledge of the education industry, having been a Senior Head Teacher for distance education for 20 years with OTEN and then having moved back to Ryde School of Horticulture (where her teaching career began) as Head Teacher of Landscape Construction and Irrigation.
Jude has a wealth of knowledge and has had extensive input into the development of Australia-wide training and programs for the horticulture, landscape construction and irrigation industries. She also has exceptional management skills, having supervised large teaching sections with many hundreds of students. She has a clear and strong communication style, both written and verbal.
Jude is motivated by a desire to contribute, to create tangible outcomes and to bring about positive conclusions that will benefit the industry. She values honesty and integrity and believes strongly in the importance of mutual benefit in any business relationship. She enjoys building relationships and working with stakeholders to determine a strong understanding of their goals and she also has the experience to ensure that the LNA and our stakeholders can work together to achieve those goals.
